Julie and Julia Review

I really didn't know what to expect from this movie. I thought that it was a cute concept and then was further intrigued when I read that it was based around a true story. A true story about blogging? Say no more, I'm there. I really liked this movie. It was easy to feel good pretty much all the way through the film. Sure it wasn't historically accurate unless the real Julie had the best weight loss pills because Amy Adams didn't gain nearly enough weight from all those recipes.

Then of course I wanted to know how much of the movie was true and read the actual blog. I wanted to read the book and the author's subsequent book. By the time I had done a little reading about the real Julie I was very disenchanted with her to the point that it almost ruined the movie for me. The one thing that I liked about the movie was the seeming lack of conflict. It was possible to feel good and breathe throughout the entire plot. By reading about the real blogger I can't help but be marveled at what Hollywood can come up with. So in short watch the movie and don't do follow up research.
