Last week I was on a an intellectual kick. I just wanted to know all of the random stuff that I'd never fully understood. I looked up richard willich patriotism, recipes for quiche and started worrying about a paper I wrote for an algebra class in college. We had to do a book report on Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions by Edwin Abbott. I read the book, but it's the first time I ever wrote a book report when I didn't understand the book.
The very next day I was at the library and in the new DVD releases there was a movie version of Flatland. Since I was on my intellectual kick I took it home, not knowing exactly what to expect. I made it through about one minute and fourteen seconds before I turned it off. I'm sure that the video in itself is fine, I just don't understand it. It hurt my head so I stopped watching it. At this point I don't even know whether it was geared towards kids or not because there were singing shapes. It's not you Flatland, it's me.
