I vividly remember reading the Chronicles of Narnia books when I was a child. Well, I should say that I vivdly remember reading The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe when I was a child. I'm sure that I read Prince Caspian: The Return to Narnia, but I couldn't remember the story. So I can't say if I liked the book or the movie better, but it was an incredible movie.
It spoke to me in a way that the book didn't. I was probably too young to really understand Prince Caspian at the time. Besides the fact that I loved to reread books so I only thought of it as the book that wasn't as good as The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. In fact, I didn't like the book because there wasn't a wardrobe involved. (At least I don't think so. I really can't remember.) There definitely wasn't one in the movie. I always wanted an armoire when I was a kid because I thought that it would have magical powers. So my advice is go watch Prince Caspian.
