I was just looking through a bunch of Josh Groban tribute albums. At first, a tribute seems like a nice idea. It's a trend that is growing, there are even N'sync tribute albums. I always thought that a tribute should go to someone who was, you know, older, or at least good at their job. If you want to sing a band's songs, then sing their songs. Whats with all the tribute stuff?
You say tribute album, I say rip off. You say potato, I say potato. Well, ok they both look the same in the written word so that wasn't the best example. Besides the fact, do I really want to hear anyone cover Tom Waits? No one can compare to him. It's like comparing finger painting to the Sistine chapel.
