One of my favorite movies about music is "That Thing You Do". Actually, one of my favorite movies period is "That Thing You Do". I really don't think that this movie got the attention that it deserved, especially since Tom Hanks wrote, directed & starred in it. It just has such a catchy soundtrack. There aren't a lot of songs that you can hear about 8,000 times through the course of one movie & still like. However, I never get sick of hearing "That Thing You Do". It makes me want to get up & dance & reminds me of all the great things in life like jellybeans, quoizel lighting, movies & love.
I adore the breakup scene in this movie. I've memorized it just in case I ever date a musician. It almost makes me want to have a really bad breakup just so I can use the monologue. Someday, someday.
