One of the best compliments that I’ve ever gotten was “You’re the only person I know that actually does what Anne of Green Gables would do”. I remember when I was a kid, every time I was sick, I would watch “Anne of Green Gable” & “Anne of Avolena”. I even wished that I had red hair. (I dyed it auburn for a dreadful time in the late 90’s, what can I say? Everyone else was doing it).
So, I was excited to watch “Anne of Green Gables: The Continuing Story”. Boy, was I wrong. This aired in 2000. The same actors play Anne, Diana, & Gilbert as in the original mini series. Picture Anne with a really deep voice, Diana has servants, & Green Gables is a run down shack. Plus there is war, limb loss, & Anne lives in New York for awhile. I didn't mind the New York part, I just thought that it should've been more realistic. Definitely a disappointment. I’m only giving it one tiara because I don’t have a negative tiara rating.
