House vs. Spouse

This is a new TLC show and probably one of the best ones since Trading Spaces in my opinion. The premise is that a couple signs up to renovate their house together for $25,000. Then they discover that one of them will be in charge to execute the plan while the other person is sequestered far away for 3 weeks.

The twist of the show is that the absent spouse designs a "dollhouse". They have an exact replica of their room to work with and can design it any way they want. Then the other spouse can see it when the renovation is close to being finished. They get an option of purchasing some of the items. I really think this is unfair because it gets up their expectations. Really they should instead have to address all 3 rooms, that way they can’t blow the budget on just one “dream” space and they have a better idea of the struggle that the other spouse is going through. I wish TLC would get away from reality shows and start teaching us again whether it's about liponox reviews or home improvement.
