How to Make Friends on Reality TV

When I watch shows like the Hills or anything reality based friends seem to fall into two groups. There are the life long friends that come with you on the show. Then there are the "friends" that the producers pick for you. This must be so awkward in real life, to have to fake friendship. I really do hope that some of these people actually get along. In a way it would be a lot easier than choosing and finding your own friends.
