Women and Country Review

I was really surprised to learn that Jakob Dylan of Wallflowers fame had done a country album. I also refer to him as "the hottest man alive". I listened to the album expecting not to like it simply because whenever someone tries to cross over it usually crashes and burns. Something about this album reminds of winter, like I want to listen to it next to home heaters because it is so moody.

I don't know that this record would really find a home on modern country radio stations, and I don't know if that was the intent. It has a lot of blues and soul in it. I really don't know what radio station it belongs on, maybe they should make a new one just for him. I also really love this quote from an interview he did about the album:

Dylan: Fear of failure. I'm not afraid of failure. It's not that bad (laughs).
