A Season or an Episode?

Some of my favorite episodes of all high school and college TV shows are when it comes time to take the big entrance exam. In some teen dramas it's just the focus of one episode while in others like Gilmore Girls an entire season really revolves around this whole college acceptance process. I never really like the one episode shows because it does take such preparation and sometimes even the help of tutors or entire companies to get ready. I can only wonder if Gilmore Girls had kept going if they'd make a big deal about gmat prep courses. Would you rather see an entire season devoted to time consuming and stressful real life events or focus more on unrealistic drama?
