Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta

There is a newer season of this on Netflix Instant Watch that I've been watching. I've noticed that the family dynamics and the dresses are really different in the South. However, what I really find interesting is that the fiancées are also different. It seems like almost every bride on that show marries their high school sweetheart. Some people break up in high school and find them again years later online. I guess it's nice to know that someone could go to a drug detox clinic, or move far away, and if it's meant to be it will work out later. Is this common in the South?
