I've always defended the record industry & been against illegal downloading. My view has been that just because you can steal, doesn't mean that you should. This meant that my music collection isn't as extensive as I would have liked it to be. This meant that I have waited for several years to buy certain CDs. So I was ecstatic when I finally bought the Norah Jones CD "Feels like home".
I put the CD in my computer & was met with "this setup program will install bandlink". I thought, you're kidding right? I don't want to install anything on my computer. I looked around for a "no thanks, I don't want to install this" button. There was no such button. The only options were to install or cancel. I spent quite a long time trying to find a work around this, but was left with nothing. If I put this in my CD player, it works fine, but I still can't get it to play on my computer because I don't want to install anything.
Am I just old? Does this happen with a lot of CDs? I just want to play the CD that I bought. I want to put the CD in my computer & have the CD play music, the way CDs should, the way my other CDs do. If this is the way that it's going to be, I'll just save my money & buy designer inspired jewelry instead. Has anyone else had this experience?
I completely agree! Grrrrr!!
