The Songbook
Normally I wouldn't want to read a book about music, I would want to you know, listen to music. So I had my doubts when I picked up "The Songbook" by Nick Hornby. It's basically the soundtrack to his life. It has definitely been one of the most involved books that I have read because it didn't make sense to just read it without knowing the songs he was talking about. So I find the song, listen to the song, read the lyrics & then read the two page chapters by Nick. I really like that the chapters are so small & he isn't a music snob, plus I get to hear a lot more British pop music than I would normally. Now I've got to do some serious thinking about what would be on the soundtrack to my life.
